Where Seoul's skin clinics are: a neighborhood guide
Almost all of Seoul's skin and aesthetic clinics cluster in a few Gangnam neighborhoods. Here's how the areas differ and what that means (and doesn't mean) for you.

If you map Seoul's skin and aesthetic clinics, they pile up in one part of the city: Gangnam, south of the river. A handful of neighborhoods there hold an enormous share of the country's clinics, which is why "Gangnam" and "K-beauty clinic" are almost synonyms.
Knowing the geography helps you plan travel and set expectations. It should not, by itself, decide where you go — neighborhood is about convenience and positioning, not whether a specific clinic is right for you.
Section 01
Why it's all in Gangnam
Gangnam-gu became Korea's aesthetic-medicine center over decades, and clinics cluster where other clinics already are — near each other, near the people who use them, and near the subway. For a visitor that density is convenient: you can often reach several clinics, pharmacies, and aftercare in a short walk.
The flip side is marketing saturation. The busiest areas are also where you'll see the most advertising, so the neighborhood that's easiest to reach is also where it pays most to go in with clear questions.
Section 02
The main neighborhoods
Apgujeong & Cheongdam: the premium end, around Apgujeong Rodeo. Known for higher-positioned clinics and flagship locations; convenient and polished, often priced to match.
Sinsa & Garosu-gil: a slightly more relaxed, design-y area just north of Apgujeong, with a mix of clinics among cafes and shops.
Gangnam Station (Gangnam-daero): extremely high density and competition, which can mean sharper pricing and also more aggressive marketing. Very easy to reach.
Dosan-daero runs through this district and is a common clinic address — our partner, Cellinique, is on Dosan-daero in Gangnam. Outside Gangnam, areas like Myeongdong are more tourist-facing; they're central, but the city's clinical density is still south of the river.
Section 03
What the neighborhood does and doesn't tell you
Area signals positioning and price tier more than care quality. A thoughtful clinic and a pushy one can share a street, so use the neighborhood to plan logistics, not to judge a specific clinic.
Practically: pick your clinic first (registration, English support, a clear consultation — see our guide on choosing a clinic), then let its location shape your day. Build in time for the consultation and any aftercare, and remember Gangnam is well connected by subway lines 3, 7, and the 2 line at Gangnam Station.
Frequently asked
Frequently asked
Where are most skin clinics in Seoul?
The large majority cluster in Gangnam-gu, south of the Han River — especially the Apgujeong, Cheongdam, Sinsa, and Gangnam Station areas. They're dense and walkable, well connected by subway, which is why Gangnam is synonymous with K-beauty clinics. Dosan-daero is a common clinic address within this district.
Is Gangnam the best area for skin clinics in Seoul?
Gangnam has by far the highest concentration of skin and aesthetic clinics, which makes it convenient, but "best area" is the wrong frame — neighborhood signals price tier and positioning more than care quality. A careful clinic and a hard-sell one can sit on the same block. Choose by the specific clinic and your consultation, and use the area to plan your route.
Which Seoul subway stations are near the skin clinics?
The main ones are Apgujeong and Apgujeong Rodeo (premium clinic area), Sinsa (Garosu-gil), and Gangnam Station (very high density). Gangnam is served by subway lines 3, 7, and line 2 at Gangnam Station, so most of the clinic district is a short ride or walk from central Seoul.
Are clinics in tourist areas like Myeongdong good for foreigners?
Central tourist areas like Myeongdong are convenient and often foreigner-facing, but Seoul's clinical density is still in Gangnam, south of the river. Location doesn't determine quality either way — wherever you go, verify the clinic is officially registered to treat foreign patients and that you get a real doctor consultation.
